Ten years ago "vacation home ownership" described a type of product that was most likely not commissionable to travel agents and could, in fact, "steal away" potential customers from more lucrative sales opportunities. In fact, vacation homes were often confused with "timeshares," which often were sold by fly-by-night operators using dubious techniques.
