The French never stop teasing its neighboring countries about the fact that the French are indeed blessed with what they call the very best of the alps, as well as an incredible system of resorts, trails and facilities to entice even the most jaded skier.

Patrick Goyet, director of the French Government Tourist Office, presided over a session that offered information about Ski France International, a group of 14 French resorts that have banded together in a $100,000 global marketing campaign.

France has 357 ski resorts and ski centers, including 175 equipped with snowmaking capabilities; 4,013 ski lifts in operation; and 62,366 acres of downhill ski trails. Nordic skiing facilities include 230 cross-country resorts and 8,073 miles of trails. ...
