Virgin's very upper class. (F.Y.I.).(Virgin Atlantic Airways plans new services)(Brief Article)

Travel Agent, November, 2002

Look for Virgin Atlantic Airways to challenge Singapore Airlines and Emirates for top service honors next year. Virgin Atlantic Chairman Richard Branson (pictured) says his carrier will make an announcement in March or early April that will put it a cut above some of the most highly rated airlines in the business.

Presumably that would include new seating, food and other comforts. Branson was in New York last week to unveil new routes, talk about a new partnership with Delta and lobby for a common aviation pact between Europe and the U.S. He also says Virgin would most likely set up a new airline in the U.S--much as it developed Virgin Blue in Australia--rather than invest in or buy an existing one, if it eventually gets rights to fly in this country.
