The Caribbean tourism sector is employing creative and aggressive tactics to overcome this challenging chapter in the history of the travel industry. Although the effects of Sept. 11, 2001, linger, the islands are finding new ways to prosper by banding together and launching cooperative marketing initiatives that unify the region. In the following interview, Hugh Riley, who last March joined the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO)--the premiere tourism marketing entity of the Caribbean--as director of marketing for the Americas, shares his thoughts on the future of the region's tourism industry.
