After 40 years in travel, Kurt Bodmer, the vice president of product development for San Diego-based Japan & Orient Tours (now a division of Pleasant Holidays) is retiring. Bodmer's career, begun in 1963 as a travel agent, has taken him to positions in Percival Tours, Olson Travel World and Unitours as well as the last 11 years with J&O.
He will continue to organize trips with a running focus to exotic destinations.
