Several large corporate travel agencies said that domestic travel is seeing a slight recovery, while international travel will likely remain depressed for some time. Jack O'Neill, president of TQ3 Maritz Travel Solutions, said sales were down 50 percent in the first week of military action against Iraq, but on March 24, domestic sales were back to where they had been before those events.
Robin Schleien, president of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, N.A., said transactions were down 11. percent at the end of 2002 and were down 5 percent for the first quarter; however, Schleien expects to see a modest recovery in 2004.
