Exploring natural attractions and outdoor activities when on vacation is becoming increasingly more important to travelers. Ac cording to the 2002 National Leisure Travel Monitor, published by Yankelovich, Pepperdine & Brown and Yankelovich Partners, 51 percent said they enjoy getting exercise while on a leisure vacation, and more than 40 percent said they like to take in a destination's offerings through hiking and outdoor adventure. Although Las Vegas is known more for its glitz and glamour than for its flora and fauna, the city is a terrific base for exploration of a beautiful desert environment, whether on foot, bike or horseback; in its waters; or from the air.
