Fifty-three years ago, Club Med became the world's first all-inclusive resort operator when it opened its first village in Alcudia, Spain. Over the years, many other companies have entered the all-inclusive category, each offering its own special mix of amenities and accommodations for one package price. While Club Med continues to be one of the strongest brands in the industry, it had recently all but lost its claim as the most innovative leader among all-inclusive operators.

But that may be about to change. On April 27 Club Med introduced its "total all-inclusive" ...
