A bankruptcy judge overseeing Hawaiian Airlines' restructuring has ordered that an independent trustee be appointed to run the airline after Boeing Capital Corp. accused the carrier of mismanagement. Hawaiian maintains that its operations will not be affected by the ruling. Hawaiian CEO John Adams had earlier offered to step down as an alternative to the appointment of a trustee.
Hawaiian reported a net loss of $15.5 million for the first quarter compared with a loss of $18.6 million for the same 2002 period.
