Kerzner International Limited reached an agreement with the government of the Bahamas for a $600 million expansion of Atlantis, Paradise Island. Included in the plans are 1,200 new rooms at Pirate's Cove: more water-themed attractions, including a new dolphin encounter if approved; four restaurants; more than 20,000 square feet of retail space around the Atlantis Marina (Marina Village); and three deluxe villas at the One & Only Ocean Club.
The Harborside timeshare project next to Atlantis will also add about 120 new two-bedroom suites. Kerzner also will add at least 50,000 square feet of convention and meeting space and a golf course on nearby Athol Island.
