Five years ago, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) christened the 2,834-passenger Disney Magic. The ship, which began cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral, offered some unique features, including rotational dining; single key card access for both cabins and Disney World Resort rooms; two kids club areas that can host hundreds of children; and a Disney private island, Castaway Cay, remarkable for its detail and Disney-themed venues.

Disney Magic was joined two years later by a twin ship, Disney Wonder, which sailed a similar cruise to the Bahamas. Three years ago DCL introduced seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises on the Magic, with calls at St. Maurten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay, plus two days at sea.
