Travel Agent, July, 2003
Norwegian Cruise Line's Norway received clearance from the U.S. Coast Guard in Miami and left June 27 from the Port of Miami on its way to Land's End at the western edge of the English Channel. A seagoing tugboat is towing the ship, which had an engine room fire last month that killed. six crewmembers.
The trans-Atlantic crossing will take approximately three weeks. NCL is still determining which shipyard will make repairs on the ship, but it says the Norway is on schedule to begin sailing again Oct. 5. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the U.S. Coast Guard have completed their onsite investigation, although the NTSB has stated that it may take a year to determine the cause of the accident.
