Central Artery Trials and Tribulations.(cost overruns)(Brief Article)

The cost overruns on Boston's huge Central Artery project continue. The latest estimate by accountants Deloitte & Touche suggest the project will cost US$100 million more than previously estimated by project manager Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff. This escalation estimate was announced only a few weeks after the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (MTA) recorded an additional $300 million in new cost escalations. According to the Deloitte & Touche report, the final cost of the project will be some $14.475 billion.
