The secret to maintaining a pen-pal dialogue is not a pen, but the candid video camera, says speech-language pathologist (SLP) Jennifer Perkins Faulk, whose innovative caseload management strategy drew raves from her middle school students. Faulk and DeAnne Sanders of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office in Bakersfield, CA, began the videotape exchange after their colleague Debra Martin relocated to Illinois.
