Impact Aurora--coin laundries reflect on bottom-line benefits.(Advertisement)

A severe drought in Durango, Colo., spurred two coin laundries to replace their less-efficient topload washers with Energy Star[R] qualified Auroras[TM]. In just six months, Florida Laundry and The North Main Laundry have significantly cut water, gas and electricity consumption.

"One of the reasons I chose the Aurora was to try to save some water," says Dave Hall of Florida Laundry. "We haven't had significant rainfall in three years."

Since the installation of 14 Auroras, Florida Laundry has saved 20,000 gallons of water per month, says Hall, not to mention a significant amount of electricity and gas. At North Main Laundry, owner Dick Andrews has realized a similar savings. In March, Andrews replaced his topload washers with 24 Auroras.
