Members of the Miller family have been involved in the business of cleaning clothes in North Carolina since 1915. In this issue we focus on Jeff Miller and his latest coin laundry, Lost Sock (page 26). Miller says Lost Sock attracts customers from as far as 20 miles away.
As you read the profile you may see why customers are drawn to the store. What plays a big part in drawing customers, in my view, is the business philosophy Miller inherited from his late father, Bert: "When somebody comes in, no matter whether they're rich or poor, what they bring to you is the best they have or they wouldn't be bringing it. You're supposed to treat everybody with the same dignity and respect."
