3D printer uses tougher ABS.(Tooling, product design and prototyping)

British Plastics & Rubber, May, 2007

Content provided in partnership with HighBeam Research

The new Stratasys Dimension Elite 3D Printer from Laser Lines (Stand 58) brings with it a new build material. The P430 ABS plus gives the user a 40 per cent increase in mechanical strength over the P400 ABS used in the 768 and 1200 3D Printer ranges. The Dimension Elite also has the capability to build in a user-defined 0.178 mm layer thickness so that thin wall section models and fine feature detail are enhanced compared with the other printers in the range.

The Dimension range uses a patented fused deposition modelling processe which builds three-dimensional parts directly from 3D CAD systems for use in testing form, fit and function.
