In the heart of a lower Manhattan neighborhood sits a large, looming edifice that once housed the country's moneyed and now serves the city's down and out.

More than 1,000 homeless men and women call the Prince George Hotel home now, thanks to the lobbying and fundraising efforts of an organization called the Common Ground Community.
