Deli units falls as promotional activity dwindles.(IRI REFRIGERATED PRODUCT TRACK)(food company sales)

Deli sales were flat and units down for the 12 weeks ended 4/17/05, according to Information Resources, Inc. (Chicago). This was doubtless due in part to a 3.6-percentage-point drop in dealing versus the same period last year.

Based on IRI definitions and data, here's a look at the period with the top five brands in selected categories. Sales and unit figures and changes for the brands in the subsequent listings are in the following order: dollar sales for the period, percent changer in those sales versus the same period the previous year; unit sales for the period, percent change in units versus the same period the previous year.
