DSS: satellite headed higher. (Thomson Consumer Electronics, Digital Satellite System sales)

Thomson Consumer Electronics is forecasting that 1995 sales of its Digital Satellite System (DSS) will be three or four times greater than they were in 1994. Thomson plans to increase production in 1995 and introduce a second generation Digital Satellite System. Thomson's RCA-brand DSS units are being sold through 4,000 retailers throughout the country. Thomson's DSS unit retails for $699 for the basic system and $899 for an upgraded version.

INDIANAPOLIS--Thomson Consumer Electronics expects sales of its Digital Satellite System in 1995 to be three to four times the number sold during 1994, the first year this new form of home satellite TV entertainment became available.
