Sears Roebuck de Mexico's Pres Warren Flick told an audience at an International Council of Shopping Centers symposium that his company plans to continue its expansion throughout Mexico. Sears Roebuck de Mexico already has 45 stores in the country and plans to add 5 stores each year through the year 2000. Although Mexico's consumers have lost 15% of their spending power due to the devaluation of the Peso, most observers expect the trend toward purchasing in department stores to continue.
MEXICO CITY (FNS)--Warren Flick, president, Sears Roebuck de Mexico, foresees boom times for department stores in Mexico outside the country's three main urban areas and suggests developers to start building now to accommodate the rush.
