Lifetime Hoan Corp., Westbury, N.Y., set a first quarter record with increased sales and earnings.

Net sales for the quarter ending March 31, were $18.7 million, a 28 percent increase from $14.6 million for the comparable quarter last year. Net income climbed 13 percent to $1.8 million over first quarter last year, which rang in $1.6 million.

"The addition of customers has been an added source of revenue growth while our cuttingboard division and Smart Choice line of specialty items continue to perform well," said Milton Cohen, president and chief executive.
