Best Buy to add products, stores.(Brief Article)

MINNEAPOLIS-Best Buy Co. plans to expand its product base later this year with the addition of office supplies, which company officials said is a logical spin-off of its home office business.

Later this sununer, Best Buy will add about 2,000 SKUs of various office supplies that will be offered in all stores bigger than 45,000 square feet. A smaller assortment will be offered in the chain's smaller stores.

"The leverage and efficiency of our existing distribution system will process these new higher-margin office supplies to all stores," said Richard M. Schulze, Best Buy's chairman.
