Compac Computer Corp entered the retail market in 1993 when it introduced its first home personal computer product line, the Presario. In 1995, Compaq is number two in the retail market and number two in the portable computer market. Compaq had a 12% growth rate in 1994 because it had recently introduced the Presario product line and had allowed its prices to increase to an unacceptable level.
