Intel Corp plans to sell 35 million Pentium microprocessing chips in 1995, fueled by strong growth in sales of personal computers. The company has promoted the powerful chip through the use of interactive kiosks displayed in retail stores. Intel has marketed the Pentium chip as a solution for increasingly popular multimedia applications performed by personal computers. Consumer surveys conducted by the company indicated that many computer users expressed regret at not having purchased a more powerful unit.
