Sony Computer Entertainment Pres Steve Race has resigned, perhaps due to a power struggle over the promotion and marketing of the company's PlayStation video game player, scheduled to debut in Sep 1995. The 32-bit CD-based product will compete with Nintendo's Super NES system and Sega's Saturn system. Race was responsible for the system's marketing, sales and distribution. Sony Electronics senior VP Martin Homlish will replace Race on an interim basis.

FOSTER CITY, Cal.--Steve Race has resigned as president of Sony Computer Entertainment, just one month shy of the debut of the company's PlayStation video game system.
