Home Express is a growing 'category killer' retail home furnishings chain that plans to operate 33 stores by the end of 1995, and open up to 14 stores a year in the future. The company was founded in 1986 in Fremont, CA and offers a wide range of merchandise. Home Express uses advanced scanning technology to carry more than 250,000 items and has opened a 418,000 sq ft distribution center near Ontario, CA to support expansion plans.

Yankey talks proudly of economies of scale, one might at first imagine he's talking about the new and innovative Kid's Corner, which stocks everything from children's bunk beds to Pooh and Batman comforters and kid-themed mugs.
