Retailers are thanking Windows 95, in part, for an increase in sales during the month of August.

In a report on August and second quarter sales, Minneapolis-based Best Buy Co., said August sales reached $526 million, 59 percent more than the $330 million attained in the previous years' four week period. Sales for the second fiscal quarter were $1.437 billion, a 54 percent increase over the second fiscal quarter of 1994.
