Epson plays ELF card. (Epson America, Epson Lan Fax)(Brief Article)

TORRANCE, Cal.--Epson America continues to expand its portfolio of PC card products through retail, disclosing a new multifunction PC card said to offer simultaneous operation of Ethernet and fax/modem functions.

Called ELF (for Epson LAN Fax), the PCMCIA Type II card combines Ethernet and fax/modem functionality. The ELF 14NA offers a data transfer rate of 14.4Kbps while the ELF 28NA has a data transfer rate of 28.8Kbps for the fax/modem functions.

"This combo card represents another successful venture from Epson in providing OEM and branded channels with the broadest line of PCMCIA cards available," said Jack Confrey, vice president of the OEM division at Epson.
