Symantec Corp: Windows 95 winner.(Brief Article)

FORT WORTH, Texas--Alan Bush, president of Computer City, declared the Cupertino, Cal.-based Symantec Corp. a big sales winner during the launch of Windows 95. The company, which released its Norton Antivirus for Windows 95 simultaneously with the new operating system, was, and is, successfully addressing consumer concerns about PC viruses potentially brought on by installing Windows 95.

"Symantec has been the winner, hands down, for software sales," Bush said. "Otherwise, its been the usual suspects: hard drives, memory upgrades, CD-ROM drives."
