REDWOOD City, Cal. - Sega of America has introduced the Genesis Nomad, a portable 16-bit video game system that is compatible with the more than 600 Genesis game cartridges. It sports a 3.25-inch color screen, six-button control pad and uses six AA batteries for up to three hours of continuous gaming. Options include an AC adapter, cable for plug-in TV play, rechargeable battery pack and car adapter.

Nomad will ship in limited quantities next month at a suggested retail of under $200. Full distribution is slated for next spring.
