FCC to auction satellite slot. (Primestar Partners Ltd.'s high-power satellite TV slot)(Brief Article)

The Federal Communications Commission plans to auction off the high-power satellite TV slot that had been assigned to Primestar Partners Ltd. Earlier this year, the FCC decided that Primestar had been too slow in developing a service to use the satellite opening. The only current high-power satellite TV service is DSS developed by Thomson Consumer Electronics and DirecTv.
Primestar markets a medium-power service.
