William Sims, a former JVC executive, has been named president of the Zenith Sales Co., replacing Gerald McCarthy, who is retiring. Sims was a vice president in the consumer video division of JVC Co. of America.
McCarthy has been president of the Zenith Sales Co. since 1983 and executive vice president for sales and marketing of the parent company, Zenith Electronics Corp., since 1993. According to Zenith, he is retiring to spend more time with his family and explore opportunities outside the consumer electronics industry. He could not be reached for comment.
