Wall Street analysts say flat comparable-store sales for the month of May, 1996, at Computer City do not mean the firm's efforts at a turnaround are failing. Computer City's comparable-store sales rose 7% in Feb, 5% in March and 10% in April, 1996. Analysts say new Pres Matt Howard has not had enough time to completely turn Computer City around. Finances at parent company Tandy and its subsidiaries Incredible Universe and Radio Shack are also being observed by investment advisers.

New York -- Flat comparable store sales at Computer City during May were greeted like ice water down Wall Street's back, a cold wake-up call for analysts pleasantly surprised earlier this year by the chain's positive sales trend.
