Sharper Image, Tower to sell AT&T's DSS. (Tower Records; Digital Satellite System)

Sharper Image and Tower Records stores are slated to being selling AT&T Digital Satellite System (DSS) hardware at in-store kiosks. AT&T plans to begin offering the DSS products at Tower Records on Jul 29, 1996, and at Sharper Image in Sep 1996. The retail outlets will receive a portion of each sale, however AT&T has not established a structured commission plan for DSS sales at kiosks.
NEW YORK--AT&T will soon begin selling Digital Satellite Systems in The Sharper Image stores and select Tower Records nationwide.
AT&T reported last week that customers will be able to order DSS hardware via telephone in AT&T kiosks in Tower Records and The Sharper Image stores and through The Sharper Image catalog.
This is the first time AT&T has gone to retail with DSS....
