MONROE, Mich.-- A design patent has been granted to La-Z-Boy Chair Co. for its #554 "Dreamtime" reclining chair.

The Dreamtime design is groundbreaking, both for La-Z-Boy and the industry, according to Jack Lewis, director of design. "It features a totally new combination of style and support, while incorporating the comfort and quality for which La-Z-Boy is famous," he said.

The chaise-style recliner features bold, padded front posts. The over-stuffed back has curved sew-lines positioned for maximum comfort and visual appeal. The arm pillows, inside back and front posts have new edge-stitching detail, and the entire chair has a casual, "broken-in" look and feel, said the company.

In other news, the firm has officially changed its name to La-Z-Boy...
