Walt Disney Co. (home video unit sees revenue, income gains)(Brief Article)

NEW YORK-- Although Walt Disney Co.'s creative-content division reported lower-than-expected operating income for the third quarter, the company's home-video unit gave the dark cloud a silver lining.

The division--which includes movies, television, home video and consumer products licensing--had a 13 percent increase in operating income, to $297 million; revenue rose 24 percent to $2.3 billion.

Lower-than-expected results were mainly due to disappointing results of live-action films, according to analysts.

Bolstering the results were sales of home-video releases including "The Aristocrats," which sold about $100 million, and "Pooh Adventures," which did about $60 million.
