NEW YORK--Manhattan is becoming a mecca for big-name computer retailers, as Computer City SuperCenter opens its first New York City location, joining the ranks of Comp USA and Nobody Beats The Wiz in the heart of the Big Apple.

At 40,000 square feet, Computer City's newest store, on avenue of the Americas in the 40s, is roughly 16,000 square feet larger than other Computer City stores. It is the chain's second downtown location, the first opened in Chicago in July.

Nobody Beats the Wiz, which already has a store on Fifth Avenue at 33rd Street, recently opened another on Fifth in the 40s. CompUSA has operated a store on Fifth Avenue in the 30s for some time.
