LAS VEGAS -- Sharp Electronics Corp. will launch its fifth generation of Viewcam camcorders here this week along with feature-packed large-screen TVs, VCRs, TV-VCRs, and compact and mini stereo systems.
The Viewcam line includes two Hi-8 models, four 8mm models with 3-inch viewscreens and four 8mm models with 4-inch screens. New Viewcam features include high zoom ratios, a 90-minute battery with all new models, a smaller and lighter chassis and decreased lux ratings.
Viewcam prices have not been determined.
The Hi-8 models have 4-inch viewscreens, digital image stabilization, title, hi-fi stereo sound, and digital effects. One model has 12X optical and 30X digital zoom; the other model has a 16X optical and 40X digital zoom.
