LAMAR, Mo. -- Citing higher gross margins and carefully controlled operating expenses, Daniel O'Sullivan, chairman and chief executive of O'Sullivan Industries Holdings, based here, has reported "sharply higher net income for the second quarter of fiscal 1997."
Net income for the quarter, which ended Dec. 31, was $4.6 million, or 27 cents a share, compared with net income of $458,000, or 3 cents a share, for the fiscal 1996 second quarter ended Dec. 31, 1995.
Net sales reached $80.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal 1997, com- pared with net sales of $79.6 million a year ago.
For the first six months of fiscal 1997, net income was $8 million, or 48 cents a share, compared with $1.8 million, or 11 cents a share, for the first half of fiscal...
