Mitsubishi flat-panel TVs debut.(Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics America Inc.)

ATLANTA -- Internet-enabled TVs, flat-panel-display TVs and DVD players were the highlights of Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics America Inc.'s 1997-1998 line show held here.
The company rolled out its first flat-panel plasma-display TVs that they're calling DiamondPanel TVs. Marty Zanfino, manager of product development, said that two 40-inch models -- one tabletop model and one hang-on-the-wall unit -- will be available in the second half of the year.
They will be priced under $10,000.
Zanfino said that the company has invested heavily in flat-panel development, engineering and manufacturing and will soon be ready to go into mass production.
