WestPoint Stevens Inc. has developed, through Amway Corp, a line of premium bed and bath linens for Amway Japan Ltd. called Home Fabrics by WestPoint Stevens. The collection will be distributed exclusively in Japan.
WestPoint Stevens and Amway both see opportunities in product development and distribution overseas. "We are placing more emphasis on our international business," said Tom Ward, president and chief operating officer of WestPoint Stevens. "The entire Asian market is poised for enormous growth."
The collection of bath linens will be launched later this month, with the bed linen collection available to consumers by October. The products will be distributed through Amway Japan's core of over 1 million independent distributors.
