Wal-Mart gets the first taste of Ekco cookware.

Wal-Mart is the first stop for Ekco stainless steel cookware, Ekco Housewares' first line of cookware products in more than a decade.
Other discounters are eyeing Wal-Mart with interest to see if mass-merchant consumers relate to the Ekco brand in cookware.
Ekco began shipping a seven-piece Endura nonstick set -- with a price point on the higher end of the vendor's cookware assortment --to the mass merchant this month.
Other stainless steel cookware lines from Ekco will be available to retailers in the first quarter of 1998. Retail price points for seven-piece sets will range from $49.99 to $99.99.
