FORT WORTH, Texas -- Computer City is launching Internet Cafe, an in-store computer resource and learning center.
The project comes after Computer City acquired the assets of Userfriendly Computer Resources Inc., based in New York, a provider of one-on-one computer training and in-store computer time rental.
Financial terms of the deal were not released.
The project began in Computer City's Manhattan store earlier this month and a national rollout is expected in early 1998.
Each Internet Cafe will have at least six computer terminals, four PCs and two Macs, where customers can learn about computers or "rent" them for personal use.
Rental fees are based on the length of time a customer uses a terminal.
