The strongest El Nino of the century is threatening to bring severe weather to heavily populated sections of the U.S. this winter -- and Shop Vac Corp. is prepared.

During El Nino's strongest period, January through March, the wet/dry vacuum manufacturer will flood The Weather Channel with advertisements for the QPV Shop Vac, its newest product, which can pump water out.

"We're kind of in the disaster business. When it rains and floods, we do see a peak in sales," said Larry Tempesco, Shop Vac's vice president of sales and marketing for the Williamsport, Pa., company.
