Philips to deliver phones to PrimeCo. (Philips Consumer Communications, CDMA phones, PrimeCo Personal Communications)(Brief Article)

Philips Consumer Communications will provide CDMA phones to PCS provider PrimeCo Personal Communications beginning this month. The deal, announced at Wireless '98 in Atlanta last week, is valued at about $60 million, according to the companies.
The Philips 6820 and other models under development will be sold by PrimeCo, which reported having more than 387,000 subscribers as of the end of last year. The model 6820 offers a five-line display and has icons that help the user gain access to features. The phone supports short messages, paging, voice mail notification and caller ID, and can be activated over the air.
