WORCESTER, Mass.-It seems the furniture industry has finally joined the Internet retailing gold rush with the launch of the second major online furniture retailer in as many weeks.
Furniture.com officially launched two weeks ago, replacing the company's former domain (FurnitureSite.com) and introducing a sleek new look with expanded capabilities, according to Andrew L. Brooks, president and CEO of the online retailer.
The site offers 50,000 items, including furniture, rugs, lighting and mattresses from names like American Drew, Bassett, Barclay, Kimball, Wesley Allen and Martin. Another online retailer, FurniturePoint.com, went live a week earlier offering furniture, lighting, wall art and accessories.
