The package contains a new address confirmation, information regarding local government agencies and -- of particular interest to marketers -- advertisements and promotions from retailers, and appropriate products and services.
Targeting heavy-spending movers -- and corroborating the potential of the movers' market -- are such well-known companies as Home Depot, Kmart, Rubbermaid, Ace Hardware and Blockbuster Video.
Most of the promotion materials are specifically designed for the recently relocated. Ace Hardware advertises its key-making service, for instance, to entice the new homeowner.
