TORONTO-With 21 furniture stores up-and-running and 30 planned by year's end, Sears Canada is making an aggressive foray into the home office market with a comprehensive selection of home office and commercial grade small office furniture. Dan Weare, national business manager for furniture, attributes the rapid growth in this sector -- especially in ready-to-assemble -- to the fact that people don't look at home office furniture the same way they did 10 years ago, when the $99 three-section utility piece was typical. "It is an integral part of the home," he explained. "Customers are trading up. They want practicality with style."
