HOLMES REVAMPS RIVAL IN KITCHEN; NEW PRODUCTS, NEW LOOK TO APPEAR AT NHMA SHOW.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Nearly a year after closing the deal to purchase the Rival Co., the Holmes Group is cooking up a new brand strategy for the Rival name in kitchen electrics.
"We are focusing on building the Rival brand as a dominant kitchen electrics supplier," said Matt Palma, director of marketing for the Holmes Group/Rival Division. "You'll see the first foray of what we're doing at the Housewares Show."
Key to that strategy is a new sales team, revamped packaging and expanded product development, Palma said. Joining the sales staff are former Hamilton Beach/Proctor Silex executives Mark Avery and Frank Clements.
